Being Comfortable Alone

Being comfortable alone. I'm not saying you should be alone but there will undoubtedly be times in your life when you have to be alone. Our friends and family have lives and responsibilities as well so please don't hold it against them if they can't spend time with you sometimes. If they never can then you may want to reevaluate that situation but that is a different subject. I used to think I was co dependent and how would I ever survive alone. Well that was years ago and I have since lived alone and loved it. The key is to enjoy your freedom. Think about it you can do whatever you want and not be judged for it.
Think of alone time as a mini vacation. Use the time wisely put on music and clean or cook. Do something you enjoy. Watch tv, watch that chick flick or guy movie you have been wanting to see that isn't your partners thing (if you even have a partner) find like minded friends online. There is someone to talk to online 24 hours a day 7 days a week in all time zones. The key is to distract yourself. I like to use my alone time to better myself sometimes and sometimes just catch up on sleep. Go for a drive. Visit that new store you haven't had time to. Play with your pet if you have one. Create something cool. Make a difference in someones life. Take a bubble bath. Exercise.
Write a book. Babysit a friends children so he or she can have a night or day off. There is plenty of fun stuff that doesn't cost money to do. There is a lot of legitimate places online to earn money in your spare time if you keep your eyes open and be aware of potential scams. It it sounds to good to be true it most likely is is a good rule of thumb there. And just remember you won't be alone forever. Learning to be comfortable alone will help you grow and mature in many ways.

Think of the people who never get alone time and when they do it is a Calgon moment. I know it was for me when my kids were little. I never had any alone time. The main thing to keep in mind is that it is most likely a temporary situation and keep your spirits up. Sadness is no way to live. Find something to do you enjoy and let it occupy your mind.
